Italy?
[edit]Hi, Ericoides, here:[[1]], here: [[2]], and here [[3]], they don't think like you! Why your version should be the best? --79.5.70.66 (talk) 13:55, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
- Hi. The Institut Géographique National map here [4] shows that it lies wholly within France. Can you give me a reference to a map at the same scale that shows that it is on the border? Ericoides (talk) 19:17, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
- You can just watch at italians maps, IGM or Aosta Valley maps:

- Thanks for the links 87.11.221.103. They are interesting, but in my opinion they are 1. too old, 2. very sketchy and hard to interpret, and 3. lack the clarity and up-to-dateness of the IGN map (which isn't a computer-generated map like your examples, but is a photograph of an authoritative and actual map. Could you please give a link to a jpeg of a photograph of a map that is as up to date and authoritative as the IGN. Cheers! Ericoides (talk) 08:27, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
- IGM is authoritative as IGN, on italians maps the 'Dôme' is both italian and french.--Shardan (talk) 09:25, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
- I look forward to seeing a jpeg, but I've made a note regarding the anomaly on the article page. Ericoides (talk) 17:17, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
- Buon giorno, Where is your famous map from IGM showing that the Dôme du Goûter is on the border ? All the maps I've seen, even the one putting the Mont Blanc / Monte Bianco on the border, show that the Dôme du Goûter is in France and only in France. The dispute only concerns the area between Mont Blanc and Mont Blanc de Courmayeur.
- Have you got some reference, except your word ? Best regards. Ciao. Gemini1980 (msg) 01:18, 29 apr 2008 (CEST)
- Hello. I agree with Gemini. Can you please produce a modern map with the same authority as the IGN map before you revert again. Cheers! 87.113.7.49 (msg) 10:21, 29 apr 2008 (CEST)
- IGM (Istituto Geografico Militare)[5] is the italian counterpart of French IGN, and maps from National Cartographic Web Portal [6] (Portale Cartografico Nazionale) are modern and updated, despite their graphic. The border’s red line is computer generated by Italian National Ministry of Environment [7][[8]] (in 2006, border’s red line was not active). Here [9] you can even buy maps (jpeg are not allowed because of copyright), and in every IGM map about the Dome, the summit is both Italian and French. The dispute about borders, doesn’t concerns only Mont Blanc or the Dome, but even Col du Géant [[10]]. By --Shardan (talk) 14:17, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
